Favorite Pastime

Probably my favorite pastime.

Motivational

Some of the greatest human beings to ever live were no strangers to failure. Whether they were rejected, failed, or turned down, they still became who they were supposed to be. Truly inspirational stories here.

Theme Song

If I had to pick a theme song to my main site, this would definitely be the one.

Music is energy, use it to your advantage.

A Good Point

Just a quick simple point made here by this Irish guy. This is a concept that is a key essential in improving your overall performance over time.

Gathering Your Thoughts

It's very healthy to get your ideas out and down on some sort of log or notepad. It not only helps you in gathering and organizing your thoughts, but gives you a good sense of self awareness. It's the mind speaking out loud and then getting recorded. A good strategy indeed in finding your center. Here Nate Adams who is a red bull motocross stunt riding champion explains how it works for him in his favor. He also brings up one of my favorite points in life in general (mental strength).

Unusually & Uniquely Effective

Sometimes trying out a completely new exercise all together can be good because you just might fall in love. When approaching any new exercise you must do so very cautiously. Even trying a new exercise that is entirely your own being a variation of something else can even work. It's good to sometimes step outside of what your used too. Here we have the current #1 mixed martial artist in the world Anderson Silva demonstrating a unique training routine him and his team came up with on their own. Keep in mind this man is a cage fighter, yet he somehow is able to apply this part of his training into his job. Really makes you think, doesn't it?

Pop it, Lock it, Drop it

I think song and dance are a very important part of our lives. With dance, its one of the few recreational activities out there where you can simultaneously burn calories while having fun with your friends. Personally, I love to dance and can now see why so many of those dance/aerobic hybrid type classes have emerged. You know the Zumba, Tao-Bo, whatever they're called. Here we have who is in my opinion the greatest dancer alive right now, David Bernal aka David Elsewhere. He is an experimental Pop/Lock/B-Boy/Strobe dancer. Dance can also be very self empowering promoting highly individualistic freedom of expression. And nobody displays this type of self expression better than David. Watch him here as he does a Puma commercial.

Uncharted Waters

Sometimes it's good to test your physical limitations. I mean look at this guy. He didn't know if he could get it, but went for it, and got it twice!

Cheap and Easy Burns

Jumping rope is a great cardiovascular exercise that's cheap, effective, and sometimes even fun. In my opinion it has to be one of the most effective ways to immediately burn calories. Here we have jump rope legend Buddy Lee putting on a clinic.

Keep up those BPM's!

It's good to keep your heart rate up at a steady rate during any workout. Sometimes, you can actually feel it's pulsations when doing something super strenuous. I think it's better to keep it at a controlled steady rate, whether you do an elliptical for 30 minutes, then change to free weights, it's better too keep it steady than over fluctuation. Hey, maybe that's your style I don't know, but from what I've seen and experienced, the more steady with less fluctuation, the slower it is for you to tire out. Psychology definitely plays a big role this regard as well. When your body tells your brain I got super tired from that 30 second sprint, then you say to yourself "well now  I'm too tired to do a lot more or my usual amount of exercise".

Here we have household name Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao demonstrating a good rhythm and pace in this snippet of one of his workouts. Now, keep in mind that he's the number one boxer in the world, but to him this is a controlled steady paced session. He just happens to be a freak of nature.

Mobile & Agile = Versitile

Thought this video would give some insight into how mobile the human body can be when at its best peak performance. These guys are crazy, but sometimes you need a crazy example to get a point across strongly. The more mobile you can make yourself, the easier it will be for you to perform certain cardiovascular exercises. How do we do this? Well, like they say practice makes perfect. I don't think I'd jump off a building without some practice first. First, a tool shed, second a ladder, next thing you know your hanging out with these guys. Point is, perseverance always wins.

Swiss Ball

Don't be afraid of that Swiss ball guys. It can really open up your workout routine giving you more variety in targeting certain muscle groups. If you've never used one, educate yourself more on it then give it a try when your ready.

Hope

Terence Mckenna was a writer, philosopher, public speaker, psychonaut, ethnobotanist, art historian, and self-described anarchist, anti-materialist, environmentalist, Platonist and skeptic that passed away back in 2000. In my opinion he is probably one of the coolest people to ever live, if not the coolest person to ever live. Listen here as he sheds some wisdom and truth. His words can be truly inspiring and motivating if you pay close enough attention.
